課程說明: 物理治療的臨床應用植基於許多理論。本課程的目的在探究物理治療學之理論基礎。 課程內容包括: 介紹理論與臨床的關係、如何用科學及邏輯方法作理論的推演、假說之證實或推翻、以及物理治療各次專科(電熱療、神經、小兒、骨科、心肺物理治療)之主要理論基礎及其臨床應用。課程之進行主要採上課、課堂討論與報告的方式。
教學目標: 修習學生在結束本課程時，應能
1. 瞭解理論與物理治療研究及臨床應用的關係；
2. 瞭解傳統到現代的物理治療理論之演進與異同；
3. 對物理治療理論作批判性的思考 (critical thinking)，能以科學及邏輯方法設計實驗以證實或推翻一個有關物理治療的理論，並進而判斷理論之臨床效度(validity)或應用價值；與
4. 運用不同的或新的理論基礎來設計、創新臨床治療方法或模式
